Hi, I’m Sarah!

I’ve been a Primary school teacher in the North East of England for 10 years.

I love sharing and reading stories with the children I work with - I’ve always wanted to write a story of my own.

I had lots of ideas, but none felt quite right. I’d been waiting for the inspiration to come and I found it…but not where I expected.  

In 2020 I spent the majority of the COVID19 lockdown playing away the days with my nephew and niece, William and Wren.

Even though it was the middle of spring, and we were heading into summer, every day was spent dressing up in Halloween costumes, playing zombies and hunting ghosts!

That year, I wrote a story for William inspired by his love for Halloween. He loved it so much, I decided to make it into a real book.

Whilst working in a school, I met a very talented art teacher and illustrator, Monique Scott. I decided to work with Monique to make my dream a reality and create the story about William, for William (and now for you too!)

I hope this book brings joy to the families that read it and inspires children (and adults) to embrace whatever they love, all year round - I’m biased, but I think the world would be a better place if we were all a bit more William.
